I was born and raised in Brooklyn. I have suffered hearing loss since I was a small child, and I recently discovered that I have auditory synesthesia.

Textures, colors, and forms play tunes, and my work is an attempt to communicate that space between the visual and the auditory. Sitting in the park, my skin hearing the sunlight laughing at me in waves of heat. When I draw nature I can see branches of trees slowly dancing to the mellow tune of a violin in the distance, a place to meditate in golden silence. On a subway train crossing the Manhattan Bridge, the light on its support beams passing by are sounds of cymbals.

I am inspired by great experiences I had as a child. Evenings before going to sleep, looking up in the sky and listening to twinkling stars whispering to me from other worlds. Especially waiting for a full moon, as if another dimension is opening the door to speak to me, to give me a blessing. And then as I try to sleep, feeling and hearing the radiance of the moon singing me a soothing lullaby.

I try to communicate with my paintings, to describe the isolation I experienced through my youth, being teased, stared at, knowing I am different. An emptiness on the outside, and yet a glowing of radiant energy, growing from within.
